Due to the current crisis and the recent confinement stage, this new edition of Citython will be held online. After the registration process, the corresponding links to connect to the virtual platform will be sent to each participant. The welcome session, tech pills and the awards ceremony will be open to all the students, mentors and citizens. The same procedure applies to mentoring days, where each group will be able to attend individual mentoring sessions to receive feedback on their progress.

You have to meet the following requirements: You must be at least 18 years old on the dates of the event. You have to apply as an individual on our website. Teams:

The hackathon is open to both teams (of three to five people) and individuals of legal adult age from any country in Europe. The event organizers will help participants who sign up individually to team up with other participants in a group. The procedure welcomes all applications and shall not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, age, or marital status.

Awards:

There will be one winning team of the city challenge in each edition (three winning teams in total). Each of the winning teams will be given a financial award of 500 euros. The winning teams will be chosen by a designated jury that will evaluate the solutions based on special assessment criteria. One of the most important criteria will be that the winning teams propose solutions that are feasible and relevant for the city challenges, because these teams will be working with city representatives later on to implement the solutions. Another prize for the three winning teams will be to present their solutions at the Smart City Expo 2021 in Barcelona.
